January 22, 1990/016 CORRESPONDENCES From the City of Nanaimo, January 8th, 1989 regarding Medicare of Diabetics. Moved by Alderman Stewart: Seconded by Alderman Laking: Whereas the prescription supplies required by a diabetic are not all covered by Medicare or Pharmacare; and Whereas these costs can amount to $200.00 or more per month; and Whereas a person on low or fixed income cannot afford these supplies; Therefore Be It Resolved that the Council of the City of Port Coquitlam request the Provincial Government to implement changes to the Pharmacare Policy so that these items are covered. Carried. From the Chamber of Commerce, January 8th, 1990 regarding Funding for the Tri-City Brochure. Moved by Alderman Wright: Seconded by Alderman Gates: That the City contribute $3,500.00 to the Chamber of Commerce to help fund — the Tri-City Brochure. Moved by Alderman Laking: Seconded by Alderman Keryluk: That a representative of the Chamber of Commerce be invited to the next full Council meeting to discuss funding for the Tri-City brochure. Carried. DEVELOPMENT VARIANCE PERMITS: From the City Clerk, January 4th, 1990 regarding Development Variance Permit No. 70/89 for 1244 Coutts Place. Moved by Alderman Keryluk: Seconded by Alderman Wright: {hat as recommended by the Director of Community Planning in his memorandum of December 13th, 1989 a Voluntary Development Variance Permit approved to Lot 55 of D.L. 168 and 169, NWLD Plan 79396 relaxing the requirements of the Zoning Bylaw RS-1 regulations Section 801 (4) and (5) for front and side yard setbacks.
