covenants and agreements herein contained and Subject to the terms and

conditions: hereinafter set out, the parties agree as follows: oo:
1. The City shall pay to the District a share of the costs of

maintenance, administration and operation of the Justice Building and tha
Tands on which the same is situate, in the following manner:
a) For the calendar year 1977, and commencing from January Ist
1977 A.D., and for each and every calendar year thereafter,
the District shall cause to be Prepared a budget for operation,
maintenance and administration which shall be sutmitted to the’
Parties on or before the 30th day of November;
: b) If the budget aforementioned is not Finally approved by the
jast day in February in any year for the year under review the
budget Shall be referred to arbitration pursuant to the .
"Arbitration Act", 1960, chapter 14 and amending acts, which
shall render its decision.on or before the 15th day of April,
and such decision shall be binding on both parties hereto;
c) The City shall pay to the District a share of the costs, as
aforesaid, after the acceptance of the approved budget or the
. report of the arbitration, which shall be computed to be the
ratio that the total of the following components for the City
and the District respectively would bear one to each other:

i) in each year the Statistics Canada Census figures for
population currently applicable shali be added ta;

) the number of police calls received in the preceding
year from each party's jurisdiction.

d) An adjus tment shal? take place on or before March 31st, of
the year next so as to reflect the City's share of actual
expenditure incurred for the past year;

2. The City agrees with the District that the District shall pay
in accordance with approved budget or report of the Arbitrator, aT]

operating, administrative and maintenance costs and capital expenditure

of the Justice Building and lands, and of costs of: ;
4) .Maintenance and safe keeping of prisoners;
ii) Any other required employees;

iii) All costs of fringe benefits;
