December 29th, 1976

A Special Meeting of the Municipal Council of The Corporation of
the City of Port Coquitlam was held in the Council Chamber, Port Coquitlam
City Hall, 2272 McAllister Avenue, Port Coquitlam, B.C., on December
29th, 1976, at 4:30 p.m.

His Worship Mayor J.M. Campbell, Aldermen G.R. Laking, E.W. Mabbett,
P.F. Ranger, M.A. Thompson, and L.M. Traboulay in attendance.

Also in attendance were Chief Administrative Officer L.D. Pollock,
City Clerk R.A. Freeman, City Engineer V.G. Borch, P. Eng., and Recreation
Director Janna Taylor.
BY-LAWS :

Moved by Aldernian Ranger:

Seconded by Alderman Laking:

That By-law No. 1483 be reconsidered, finally passed and adopted.
Carried.

Moved by Alderman Thompson:

Seconded by Alderman Mabbett

That By-law No. 1484 be reconsidered, finally passed and adopted.
Carried.

Moved by Alderman Traboulay:

Seconded by Alderman Mabbett

That By-law No. 1485 be reconsidered, finally passed and adopted.
Carried.

REPORTS:

From the City Engineer, December 22nd, 1976, directed to Alderman
P.F. Ranger, as Chairman of the Leisure Activities Committee, and advising
that the cost of constructing a 600 yard Partucipark circuit track at
Robert Hope Park is $4,000.00 and stating his understanding that Alderman
Ranger would be requesting Council approvai to obtain the said funds
from the Park Development Reserve.

A discussion ensued, and although some thought was expressed that
the moneys should perhaps be taken from a Parks Malntenance Account, it
was generally agreed that the Park Development Reserve Fund was a more
appropriate source of the money.

Moved by Alderman Ranger:

Seconded by Alderman Mabbett:

That the sum of $4,000.00 be taken from the Park Development Reserve

Fund for construction of a 600 yard Participark circuit track at Robert

Hope Park. Carried.

Prior to passage of the above-noted resolution, Alderman Ranger

explained that the $4,000.00 amount was the City's share of an approximate
