6 Terrace Review — Wednesday, April 16, 1986 The Zone 7 district minor hockey champions in the Peewee division have captured the B.C. Tier Two, double ‘‘AA”’ championship. The Fort St. James boys who beat out Ter- race and Prince Rupert in district playoffs last month, ran up a-perfect eight-win, no-loss record at the round-robin cham- pionship series in Grand Forks. They did it in convinc- ing style by scoring in double figures in half their games. As one organizer said, ‘‘The series was never in doubt from the first day.’’ The runnerup position was decided in the final game when Oliver- Osoyoos defeated Port Alberni in the battle for second and third. Meanwhile, in the Midget tier two at 100 Mile House, Burns Lake had to settle for second. place in this eight-team series, The Lakers lost their last game to Whitehorse and dropped into a second-place tie with Westside and Powell River with a five-win, two loss mark. Because Burns Lake had defeated the other two in round- robin action earlier, they got second overall. Kimberley took the ti- tle with five wins, one loss and one tie. Counting the third place finish at the Ban- tam finals, the Zone. 7 district managed top three placings in every Tier Two championship series. It’s an excellent showing overall.
