Soccer season Terrace senior men’s soccer team is holding tryouts for the next few weeks. Seventeen players will be selected for the team, sponsored by the Skeena Hotel, said team coach Mike Keenan. The Terrace team will be part of the Tri-cities league including Terrace, Prince Rupert and Kitimat. A total of eight teams will be involved in the league. _ The first tournament the team will compete in is the Northwest qualify- -commences ing tournament for the B.C. Summer Games in Cranbrook. Twelve senior mens teams from the Northwest will be competing in the tourna- ment to be held in Ter- race during the long weekend in May, said Keenan. Also, the Terrace team will participate in two summer tournaments held in Williams Lake and Kamloops. The soc- cer season continues un- til September said Keenan. Under 7 soccer - E.T. This is erroneous. The correct total is about 550, With the season now underway, teams will be gearing up for the B.C. Interior championships which will be held here for the first time since Terrace started opera- tions eight years ago. The big playdown for representatives from several communities featured players aged 11 to 17. It will be held the June 28 weekend.
