V3C 2A8 Dear Mayor Trahoulay and Council: In recent years the communities of Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam and Port Moody have undergone dramatic growth, Since 1984, when Eagle Ridge Hospital and Health Care Centre was established, the Tri-Cities area has grown by 24%, A further 32% growth rate is predicted by the end of the century. [t was in response to the challenges of this growth and change that the Tri-Cities Campaign for Eagle Ridge Hospital was born. This community-led initiative will help make possible the expansion of the Emergency (Jnit. Ambulatory Care Unit, surgical services, the Kecovery Room, amenities and pcograms for seniors’ health care and educational outreach programs for the community. The enclosed information explains the details of the Hospital's expansion plan and also some of the progressive services and programs for which Eagle Ridge Hospital has been widely recognized, The cost of this expansion plan is $2 million. ‘The Tri-Cities Campaign for Eagle Ridge Hospital will seek to help iniplement the expansion by working with all of the Hospital's constituencies (corporations, service clubs, local businesses, individuals and the Hospital Family) to ensure their support.
