THE CORPORATION OF THE CITY OF FORT COQUITLAM a MAY 10 ‘oh , y & aime Mr. B.R. Kirk DATE: Aprii 30, 1993 City Administrator File: 10/92, 11/92, 37/92 Carlos Felip Director of Planning 2211 Prairie Avenue — Rezoning Application 10/92, Official Commmity Plan Amendment 11/92, and Development Permit Application 37/92 Planning and Development Committee — May 4, 1993 RECOMMENDATION = That Council grant a one-year extension to Rezoning Application 10/92, Official Community Plan Amendment Application 11/92, and Development Permit Application 37/92, subject to the provisions of "Development Procedures Bylaw, 1987, No. 2243". BACKGROUND: This rezoning application is to enable the development of a non-profit housing project on the site of Trinity United Church at 2211 Prairie Avenue. The project consists of 18 townhouses for families and a 13 unit apartment building for seniors. The Rezoning and Official Community Plan Amendment applications received third reading on June 15, 1992. Under the provisions of the Development Procedures Bylaw, the project ‘shall not be considered for (final) adoption" unless Council extends the time for consideration for adoption. The applicant has sent the attached letter requesting an extension. There is certainty that completion of the project covld not occur on or before June 15, 1993. DISCUSSION: The application was unable to proceed after receiving third reading because the project did not receive an allocation for funding in the 1992 B.C. Housing management Commission Non-profit Proposal Call. The Trinity Housing Society will be re-submitting the proposal for funding under the 1993 Non-profit Proposal Call. It is therefore recommended that a one-year extension to these applications be granted subject to compliance with the Development Procedures Bylaw. Carlos FelipSuc Atch., M.C.I.P.
