THE CORPORATION OF THE CITY OF PORT COQUITLAM TO Doug Riecken. P.Eng. March 12, 1990 Deputy City Engineer FROM: Russ Mammel. A.Sc.T. Project/Traffic Tech. SUBJECT: Crosswalk on Westwood at Kitchener and Bus Route 162. RECOMMENDATIONS : 1. Install a painted crosswalk On Westwood at the south side of Woodland. complete with RA-4 pedestrian Signs mounted on each side of Westwood. Turn down the request for the City to ask 8.C. Transit for changes to the routing of bus 162. CROSSWALK REQUEST ON WESTWOOD Requested is the installation of a crosswalk on Westwood near the Kitchener/Woodland intersections. This crossing would be an interim seasure until the signalization of the intersection takes place. The safest location for a crosswalk on Westwood is at the Woodland intersection, as shown on the attached sketch. Because Woodland is four-leg intersection. visibility of this crossing would be much better than one located at Kitchener. REQUEST TO RE=ROUTE BUS 162 Bus 162 presently uses Hastings Street, Patricia Avenue, and Woodland Drive. Requested is that this bus be re-routed to use Lougheed and Westwood. The reason stated for this request is that few riders use this bus and the road is in poor repair.
