January 1999 Book update

We have sent books for review to Ceramics Monthly,
Contact Magazine and Arts and Perception - oclers will be
approached soon. Douglas & Mclnryre has sent out many
books for review, which has resulted in many interviews: one
on CBC radio with Paul Grant, and two on Radio Canada in
French; CBC televised an interview on their Broadcast |
evening news hour on January 4th; and VTV did the
Breakfast show from the Gallery of BC Ceramics on
December 14th for 3 hours - a greac visual promotion for
Made of Clay. Thanks to Mudalingers for that connection,
and for arranging the Reds Classic Theater filming.

Because Reds Classic Theater will be taping on January
22,1999 we will be setting up the exhibit, The Makers of
Made of Clay om the 2 lat. Most participants of the book were
notified of the show by telephone in December; many follow

up calls were made in early January. Por chose of you we from left ta right: Linda Doherty, Jane Henricksen and Lance Henricksen
couldn't reach here are the particulars. All participants of

Made of Clay are invited to submit one or two pieces of their larest and best work for the February 1999 exhibit in the Gallery of BC
Ceramics. All work must be for sale and the uswal 50/50 conumission will apply, Work must arrive at the Gallery by January 20th to take
advantage of the publiciry we will get for the Book through KVOS TV. The show will be aired February 7th, 9-1 1pm, and we will be
feacured during the breaks several times throughout.

All the photographs from the book have now been recurned to us from the printer, [f you sent a stamped self-addressed envelope with
your black and white phoce we will be mailing these out this week. We will actempe to get other borrowed material back to the lenders
a4 soon as Gime allows, If you did not send a retum envelope but want your photo back, you can pick it up at the Gallery of BC Ceramics.
All participants’ files will remain in the office for several months.

So - we have che job half dene - now we just need to sell, sell, sell! It will take your continued efforts to make this project a success.
