Couple marry

“You may kiss the bride.” Carol Lynn
Guilett and Wayne Richard Barson ex-
changed vows on Saturday, Aug. 9. The
wedding ceremony was the first ever to be
performed at Heritage Park In Terrace.

On Saturday, Aug. 9
Carol Lynn Gullett,
daughter of James
William Gullett and
Violet Helen Gullett of
Courtenay, B.C. ex-
changed. vows with
Wayne Richard Barson,
son of Elizabeth Barson
of Terrace.

The happy couple
marched to a melody by
Stookey, ‘‘There is
Love’’, The weather was
perfect with skies of
blue, flowers in’ bloom,
leaving a fresh fragrance
in the air, and the sound
of birds singing.

The new bride Carol
and her husband Wayne
would like to express
their gratitude to the
Terrace Museum Society
for the use of Heritage
Park. ‘“‘Our wedding was
so special and it gave it
just that much more
meaning, exchanging our
vows at Heritage Park.”’
Mamie Kerby, president
of the society, was very
supportive of our wed-
ding ceremony at the
park, said the new bride.
‘Another wedding has
been scheduled at
Heritage Park next
weekend. We think a real
trend has been started,”’

said the happy couple.

as best man, accom-
panied by the maid of
honor Sylvia Schell.
Usher, Bill Gray was ac-
companied by Danean
Gray, bridesmaid. Two
flower girls, nieces of the
bride, were Stacy and
Jennifer Clark. Jeffrey
Gray officiated as the
Ring Bearer. Minister

blessed the vows.

The bride -wore a
beautiful garden party
style gown of luxurious
satin which she made
herself. The dress was

complimented by rose.

garden lace with a satin
waistband, long sleeves
and high collar with a
scalloped edge. The
bride wore a lovely Der-
by hat that she made
herself. The hat was
trimmed with rose
garden lace and had a
waist length veil. The
bride also wore ivory
earrings with gold nug-
getts for something bor-
rowed. A bouquet of
mixed flowers with a
touch of peach color
gladiola were carried by
the bride.

The maid of honor,
Sylvia Schell, wore a
peach color dress with
matching jacket, laced
with rose garden to

-match the bride.

Bridesmaid, Danean
Gray-wore a peach color
dress also but without a
jacket. The dress had a
drop waist with a satin
sash at the waist line.
Both ladies carried mix-
ed flowers with peach ac-
cent to compliment the
bride.

were gifts of the bride to
the maid of honor and
the bridesmaid.

Flower girls, Stacy and
Jennifer Clark, wore
ivory cotton waist
dresses. Both carried a
basket of peach colored
flowers. .

The groom, Wayne
Richard Barson, wore a
deep brown tuxedo from
the Strand Collection
Full Dress Classical Tux-
edoes. A Peek lapel was
fashioned in satin with
an ivory squire shirt,
complimented by a
brown bowtie. The
groom also wore a cham-
pagne rose boutonniere.
The ring bearer. wore a
deep brown tuxedo with
an ivory shirt.

Best man, Ron
Kilgour, and usher Bill
Gray each wore a brown
tuxedo with ivory Roma
shirts. An ivory Carna-
tion boutonniere was
worn.

The newly weds drove
away in a 1930 Model A
Ford Coupe. owned and
operated by Don Hull,

The couple would like
to thank Ron Kilgour
and Sylvia Schell for
their support in the occa-
sion.

Everyone listened attentively as the Reverend explained
the vows that the couple are about to take.
