McKenzie was one of the orig- inal members of the Socialist Party of Canada and was, togeth- er with the late Ernie Winch, one of the organizers of the first Lumber and Sawmill Workers Union as part of the OBU follow- ing the first World War. McKenzie left Scotland for Can- ada at the age of 21 years, lived the remainder of his life in Burn- aby and became unemployed dur- ing the hungry thirties. He was active in the Unemployed Work- ers’ Councils, The last rites were said by Mr, A. J. Livingstone, an old friend of the family and Park Commissioner of Vancouver. Bank appeal was that they lacked confidence in Premier Bennett, the Socred government and its creation, This is a conclu- sion that cannot be explained away. Signed by a so-called “group of deeply concerned citizens,” this advertisement is the latest attempt by the Establishment in Prince Rupert, including the Prince Rupert Daily News, to do some union busting. This week, Nigel Morgan, B.C.
