September 29th, 1975 A regular meeting of the Municipal Council of The Corporation of the City of Port Coquitlam was held in the Council Chamber, Port Coquitlam City Hall, 2272 McAllister Avenue, Port Coquitlam, B. C., on September 29th, 1975, at 7:30 p.m. His Worship Mayor J.M. Campbell, Aldermen J.J. Keryluk, G.R. Laking, E.W. Mabbett, P.F. Ranger, and M.A. Thompson in attendance. Also in attendance were Chief Administrative Officer L.D. Pollock, City Clerk R.A. Freeman, City Engineer V.G. Borch, P. Eng., City Pianning Officer Lanson Lee, Recreation Director Janna Taylor, Fire Chief '!.s. Wingrove, Works & Utilities Superintendent G. Ulmer, and Mrs. B.HM. Aalten. CONFIRMATION OF MINUTES: Moved by Alderman Thompson: Minutes - Sept. 22/75 Seconded by Alderman Ranger: That the minutes of the regular meeting of this Council held on September 22nd, 1975, be taken as read and adopted. Carried. Prior to the question being called on the foregoing proposed resolution, Alderman Mabbett referred to Page 11 of the September 22nd, 1975 Council meeting minutes and stated that the essence of his comments set forth therein concerning the acquisition of property at 1065 Lynwood Avenue for the Nature Area...."that at a recent meeting of the Recreational Council the purchase of this piece of property was not favoured.".... were not conveyed as intended but should read instead "due to the fact that the dedicated Nature Area cannot, under the By~law, be developed to provide for parking, buildings, etc., the acquisition of any additional property in conjunction therewith should not be su dedicated in order that it will be possible to construct such facilities thereon", and it was generally agreed that the minutes would be corrected accordingly. REPORTS: From Mayor J.M. Campbell, September 24th, 1975, reporting on the Mayor Campbell Sept .24/75 September 24th, 1975 meeting of the Greater Vancouver Regional District. GVRD meeting Mayor Campbell, in speaking to his report, advised that the sum of $25,000.00 was authorized for staff to take photographs and prepare information so that a study can be carried out on light rapid transit in conjunction with the Province and with the sanction of the Federal Government. Alderman Thompson inquired as to how the air quality monitoring system would be operated and Mayor Campbell advised that the G.V.R.D.
