From the District of Coquitlam, September 17th, 1974, advising that the Family Div.Comn. meeting next meeting of the joint Family Division Committee has been scheduled for Wednesday, October 2nd, 1974 at 7:30 p-m., in the Committee Room of the Municipal Hall, 1111 Brunette Avenue, Coquitlam, B.C., and enclosing a copy of the agenda therefor. Alderman Thompson, the Council's representative, advised he would attend the meeting and Alderman Keryiuk requested that Miss Dorothy Ross, a teacher at George Pearkes Secondary School, and one of a number of persons recommended for appointment on the Family Division Committee, be requested to attend the meeting with Alderman Thompson. Moved by Alderman Traboulay: Seconded by Alderman Keryluk: That Miss Dorothy Ross be requested to attend the October 2nd, 1974 Family Division Committee meeting with the Council's representative, Alderman Thompson. MVB bulletin- From the Motor-Vehicle Branch, Department of Transport and Communications, school bus safety, etc. September, 1974, being a bulletin concerning School Bus Safety; Safe Bicycle Riding; and Intersections. The bulletin was ordered received and filed. A discussion ensued concerning the provisions of seat belts in school buses and the following motion was proposed: Moved by Alderman Keryluk: Seconded by Alderman Traboulay: That the City Clerk be instructed to inquire of the appropriate Provincial authorities as to the necessity for installation of seat belts in school buses. Defeated. Aldermen Keryluk and Traboulay voted in favour of the resolution. Fin.Comm.re From the Finance Committee, September 16th, 1974, recalling the fact that grant-in~aid- Royal Can. at the July 8th, 1974 Council meeting a request from the Royal Canadian Legion Legion, Br. #133 for a grant-in-aid was referred to the Finance Committee for study and recom- mendation, and advising that at a meeting held on September 6th, 1974, it was recommended the request not be approved. In view of the fact that he is a member of the Legion the Mayor vacated the Chair and left the Council Chamber during consideration of the above-
