DRAFT RESOLUTION That the following Resolution be presented to the Depart-— ment of Municipal Affairs and the Convention of the Union of British Columbia Municipalities: "WHEREAS the indiscriminate clearing and alteration of land by land developers often unnecessarily interferes with the established amenities of a particular area and upsets the ecological balance; AND WHEREAS it is desirable that minicipalities be granted the authority to control the clearing of land and alteration of water courses within the municipality; Now THEREFORE BE If RESOLVED that the Province of British Columbia be requested to amend the Municipal Act to provide that the Council may by by-law regulate or prohibit either in the entire mnuni~ cipality or in certain specified sections thereof the clearing and alteration of lan
