Voici Shana et Catherine qui font le calendrier du matin.
Shana présente les cartons de température. Est-ce qu'il
fait froid? et Catherine demande : Qu’'est-ce qu'il y a de
spécial, dans le mois de mars ? Et cela se fait pour
chacun des mois de l'année.

Elle vivait a Naramata. Puis elle avait une petite lapine qui
aimait de sauver tous les jours a midi. Un jour, Marianne a
décidé qu'elle allait la suivre. A la fin du chemin, elle a trouvé

deux bébés lapins !

“ecoccceccee®®” Finally the Francophone school has
opened its doors in Kelowna. Thanks to the unrelenting work of the
parents, the Francophone community and the Conseil scolaire
francophone, it is now a reality. The first month of implementation
is already over. The school opened on September 8, 1998 with 45
childrenregistered. Such a high number for the first year of the
school existence is quite a wonder. To find a name for the school,
parents, children and the Francophone community at large
participated to a contest in September. We do not have the results
yet. The first year will be quite a challenge ! it will allow the
Francophone new generation in Kelowna to get a sense of
belonging and develop in its surroundings. Pierre Crevier, Principal.
An open evening is sheduled on October 28 from 7: 00 pm to
8:30 pm.

Rose-des-Vents school has moved to 4 new location

The school has moved to new facilities located at 1380, West 73”
Avenue, in Marpole area, Vancouver. All necessary repairs were
done during summer. New walls were built, a play field was
installed, and a covered playground is presently under construction
for the rainy days. It is a real school with three classes (K, K-1*
grade, and 2" and 3” grades) for a total of 45 children. We thank
The Conseil scolaire for their wonderful work. We do not experience
many problems with the Transport Company, quite a lot less than
last year. Thank you Thirdwave and the CSF. Some families

participated at the CSF Annual picnic and had a lot of fun.
We wish all local parents committees a wonderful school
year 1998-1999.

A Francophone program in Tsawwassen

The Francophone school in Tsawwassen is a new program
and will soon have its own name. The facilities are beautiful
and located in a school dispensing adult education. It is
spacious and pleasant. There are two classes : a
kindergarten and a 1*/2" grade. Parents and children are
very happy.

In Parksville, we are growing !

The Program is nowin its third year and counts three classes
(K-3, 4-5, and 6,7and 8). Few projects are getting on tracks,
specially the Outdoor school scheduled for next April.

Campbell River, with the passing seasons

Grade K to 3 children in Campbell River will discover or
increase their knowledge on farm. A field trip is snheduled
to that effect in October for the children and their teacher.
A surprise is awaiting them ; they will pick-up a pumpkin
themselves. Grades 3, 4,5 and 6 are exhibiting a large
world map indicating their place of birth in the school
corridor. To develop their knowledge, they will go up and
down the town public places, among which the Museum,
where they will look at beautiful works of Haida's art.
