ADMINISTRATION DEPARTMENT The City of Port Coquitlam was incorporated in 1913 by the Por i ation . The City’s powers, duties and responsibilities are set forth in the Municipal Act and ali City procedures must be in conformity with this Statute. The Council develops policies and is the chief goveming body of the City. Implementation of the policies established by the Council through its resolutions and bylaws is the responsibility of the City Administrator. The affairs of the City and Council policy are administered by the Department. e City Administrator provides for centralization of administrative responsibility and assists along with the administrative staff in providing and managing all City services as directed by City Council. The following lists some duties of the Administration Department: assists departments and the public with enquiries and research; handles enquiries from the news media regarding operations and activities; undertakes and co-ordinates arrangements for all Council members; provides a complete range of preperty acquisition services, including negotiation and valuation, to ensure timely acquisition of required properties or interests in properucs; adininisters the general disposition process of lands and improvements that are surplus to the needs of the municipality; Ne
