His Worship Mayor L.M, Traboulay, Aldermen M.C. Farnworth, M.D. Gates, J.J. Keryluk, G.R, Laking, W.W. Stewart and M.R. Wright in attendance, Also in attendance were Acting City Administrator and City Engineer F.E. Peters, P, Eng., City Clerk R.A, Freeman and Director of Community Planning W.A. Brown. ZONING PUBLIC HEARING: His Worship Mayor L.M. Traboulay advised the following proposed Bylaw to amend the "City of Port Coquitlam Zoning Bylaw, 1979, No. 1651" would now be considered: BL/01/86/07/07/01 Bylaw No. 2188: To rezone: Lot 6 (except Part included In Plan 71468), District Lot 232, Group One, Pian 68514, New Westminster District; and Parcel NAN, District Lot 340, Group One, Reference Plan 71846, New Westminster District; from RS-2 (Single Family Residential) to RM=-3 (Multiple Family Residential) This Property Is located west of Pitt River Road In the vicinity of Yarmouth Avenue and Saskatchewan Street and the proposed rezoning would permit the construction of multi-family dwellings on the properties (which are prasently owned by the City of Port Coquitlam). Letters were received from: Mr. R, Hallding, 1250 Ricard Place, expressing opposition to the Proposed rezoning stating multi family townhouses should be situated near major bus routes, shopping malls, major traffic areas and policed areas, The fol lowing People were present and expressed their views on the Proposed rezoning. Larry Degusseme, 208 - 3921 Carrigan Crt, Burnaby, B.C. owner of Lot 7, advised he was told the property behind his lot was a greenbelt and expressed his opposition to the Proposed development of townhouses, Susan Uremovich, 1925 Taylor Street, owner of Lot 58, advised she {fs against the proposed townhouse development, Tim Whitworth, 1733 Eastern Orive, owner of property at 1290 Pitt River Road, advised he IS opposed to townhouse developments in the area. Art Ricard, Developer of Citadel Place, advised he Is against the Proposed RM~3 townhouse development, will pick up the development cost charge and wants RS-1 Single family development,
