A regular meeting of the Municipal Council of The Corporation of the City of Port Coquitlam was held in the Council Chambers, Port Coquitlam City Hall, 2272 McAllister Avenue, Port Coquitlam, B.C. on January 21st, 1980 at 7:30 p.m. His Worship Mayor G.?. Laking, Aldermen M.D. Gates, J.J. Keryluk, _Mabbett, P.F. Ranger, L.M. Traboulay and M.R. Wright in attendance, Also in attendance were Chief Administrative Officer L.D. Pollock, City Clerk R.'. Freeman, City Engineer F.E. Peters, P. Eng., Fire Chief W.S. Wingrove, Deputy Fire Chief J.N. Bofleau, City Planner L. Lee, Recreation Director K.J. Taylor, City Treasurer J.G,.S. Maitland, Works & Utilities Superintendent G.W. Ulmer and Mrs. D.L. Vyse. CONFIRMATION OF MINUTES: Minutes: Moved by Alderman Ranger: ‘ oNee OY Sea Bet January 14/80, Seconded by Alderman Mabbett: That the minutes of the regular meeting of this Counell held on January 14th, 1980 be taken as read and adopted, Carried. BY-LAWS: No. 1726 - The City Clerk advised By-Law No. 3726 {8 available for final Statutory R of W Acquisition B/L, reading and that a petition had been recelved from the residents of the 1980 ~ Final Rdg. deferred Agricultural area objecting to Bylaw No. 1726. - Feb. 4/80. Mr. P. Schaumann, 559 waurfer Avenue, spoke to Council on the proposed bylaw advising the residents and property owners object to the Petition from Property Owners~ Agricultural Area re B/L 1726, bylaw as it doves not state the owner has the right to negotlate' for othe right-of-way and asked that the City have another iook at this bylaw. Mr. Schaumann stated he had been advised by two property owners of ineidents where rights-of-way had been obtalned unfalrly and that the residents did not want a reoccurrence to be posnible. Mayor Laking replied to Mr. Schaumann advising that Bylaw Ne. 1726 was replacing Bylaw Ne. $19 which had been da effect since 1969. Mayor Laking advised there was no change ia the Bylaw with the exception of the revised wording which had been changed to eanform with the new Land Titlea Aet.
