January 7th, 1975, the Minister of Municipal Affairs be advised that the Municipal Council of The Corporation of the City of Port Coquitlam supports the opposition expressed by the Delta Council to the intent of the Greater Vancouver Regional District to borrow the sum of $10,000,000.00 for a proposed office building complex until definite building plans have been prepared. Carried, Alderman Ranger voted against the resolution. Moved by Alderman Laking: Seconded by Alderman Ranger: That as requested in letters from the Kinsmen Club of Port Coquitlam, January 10th, 1975, permission be granted to that organization to hold a Mothers' March in the City of Port Coquitlam from February 3rd to 8th, 1975, inclusive; also, use of the Mabbett Room at the Port Recreation Centre on the night of February 3rd between the hours of 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. as a collection point and to serve light refreshments to the Marching Mothers, provided the facility can be made available at that time, Carried. The Recreation Director advised that the Senior Citizens would be using the Mabbett Room for choir practice on the evening requested; however, they could possibly practice in some other part of the Centre on that occasion.
