SUBJECT: Street Names for Ticehurst-McLaiIne Subdivision

RECOMMENDATION: That City Council adopt the following names
for the streets in the Ticehurst-McLaine
subdivision:

Brand
Fletcher
Nelson

Comments:

The owners of the subdivision submitted a series of names for
their subdivision of a gold rush character, because the entry
road is named Yukon. It was the Committee!s opinion in
reviewing the names proposed that !t would be more appropriate
to follow Council's practice of naming streets after tong time
residents. To that end, the Committee selected names from the
list. Subsequently, the applicants visitad the Planning
Oepartment to express their dissatisfaction with the names
selected and requested their original names be used. Ou. 'ng
the course of the conversation, three family names were
mentioned by the applicants as being related to the history of
the property. Those names are !isted above as the
