Freeman City Clerk Re: Advertising Restrictions - Municipal Elections The "City of Port Coquitlam Election Procedure By-law, 1971, No. 1115" contains the following restrictions with respect to advertising by candidates at a Municipal Election: . 43, (a) Except as in thie Section hereinafter provided, no advertising signs er posters of any type whatsoever sball be erected or placed on any property owned or under the controi of The Corporation of the City of Port Coquitlam ' and, without limiting the generality thereof, no advertising sign or poster shall be erected on any bridge or overpass etructure, on any City budiding, or in any park. Notwithstanding the provisions of clause (a) of this Section advertising signs or posters of a size not exceeding 4" x 4" (four feer by four feet) in size may be erected. or piaced on . 4. (ec) A aign placed or erected pursuant to the provisions of clause (b) of this Section shall be removed by the person or persons placing or erecting the same within three calendar days after poliing day. (d) In this Section the expression "calendar day" meana each and every day of the week including Sundays and holidays. (By-law 1475) If Council wish to have auy change made to this Section, we would apppreciate receiving the appropriate instructions in order that changes may be made before the holding of the 1979 Municipal Election.
