Pollock, City Administrator RE: Planning Consulting Service The City has been without any consulting planners since Norman Pearson accepted a post with the Provincial Government. I have discussed a planning service with three or four firms that are in the business and interviewed two planners that I thought would be suitable, I would recommend to Council that we use the services of Mr, Bruno Freschi of the firm of Keith-King & Freschi, Architects and Planners. Mr. Freschi has agreed to Provide a planning service for the City on a basis Similar to Norman Pearson in that he will work on a perdiem basis and will not require a retainer or c contract, Mr. Freschi is presently doing some work for Burnaby. We has done work in the Kelowna area and Northwest Territories and has been responsible for a number of planning and transportation studies while working with the firm of Erickson-Massey. This is provided mainly for information as there is no contract required for Council to approve. I have invited Mr. Freschi to attend the next of the Planning and Zoning Committee to meet members of the Committee. Licence Inspector Seminar There will be a two day seminar for Licence Inspectors in Saanich on Vancouver Island on June 14th and 15th, 1973. This seminar is sponsored by the Licence Inspectors Association of which our Licence Inspector, Mr. Criggie is a member. Mr. Criggie has asked for permission to attend end I feel that the meeting which consists of a seminar and workshop study of Problems involving licencing, fee structures and enforce- ment would te useful to Mr, Criggie in his work. The cost of the conference is $25.00 Plus his hetel, travel expense and meal allowance while attending the seminar. I would recommend that approval be granted for Mr. Criggie to attend this seminar, LDP :da
