OFFICE ASSISTANT

itis with great pleasure that | introduce Shawn Klein as our new
office assisiant, Shawn, a member of the Potters Guild of BC, is
laking pollery courses and wants to be more involved with the
Guild. Boy, is she involved now! Shawn has very strong orguni-
qatronal skills, a background in office administration and man-
agement, her own design company, and is definitely a multi-
lasker, When she is more familiar with the Guild and its 300 -
activities, she will continue her administrative duties, answer
the phone, help our members and the general public. Please
Introduce yoursel! to Shawn over the mext few months.

BOOK SALES :

As of April 21, the Gallery of BC Ceramics sold 17 retail and 3
wholesale copies; our targets for this month are 25 retail copies
only, We still have not received any statements from Douglas &
McIntyre regarding their sales to bookstores since January 31:
as yet we do not have a total for the amount of money owed to
us for February and March sales. Currently, we still have an
outstanding payable to D&M for approximately $13,000; they
owe us just ower $4,000 for December and January sales, We are
waiting until we receive a complete account of sales up to and
including March 31 to pay this last installment.

NEW GALLERY ASSISTANTS

Carole Henshall and Eun Joo Choi have
recently poled our family of Gallery As-
sistants. With another staff person leaving:
at the end of June and considering cover-
ige for summer holidays, it was deemed
necessary tocxpand ourranks. Carole and
Eun Joo both have strong retail back-
grounds, an understanding of clay and
have great people skills. Eun Joo is a
working poller who regularly participates
inthe Gallery open exhibits, and will again
be in the Made OF Clay Sale Event this
year, Carole 1s very active in her own
fabric and ceramic business with her part-
