a -past leader in the local logging
industry. — hit-the hole-in-one in
‘December on the par-3 No, 2 hole
at the ‘municipal. golf course in

Wailuki, Maui, Hawaii.

“What makes Ray’s feat even
ino} € outstanding is the fact that
he. only began playing the game
al: age 62, and. didn’t start his
string of acess until he was 70.

“Ray has been playing golf for
- about 15 years and says he aver-
ages about 100 games a year.
“TAS a result of it all, Ray’s name
will 80. down in the Archive of
Sports i in Dallas, Texas for ‘‘Age-
less ‘Aces”” — the most holes-in-
one for golfers over the age of 70.

He golfs four days a week. To
his buddies on the course, he’s
known as ‘Down-the-middle’

Ray was an athlete back in bigh
school. A champion arm wrestler
back then, Ray says his days as a
205-pound weight-lifter makes
him ‘‘an arms and wrist” guy.

Ray says he continually. runs
into people from his “home
turf.’? He recently spent a day on
ihe course with a friend from
Hazelton,

Ray sends his best wishes to all
his old friends and acquaintances
in the northwest and hopes to
soon rectum to Terrace to test his
skills at the Skeena Valley Golf
Course,

Ray continues to enjoy good
health and sends his hello to all.

And he could break his own
record soon. Just the other day he
was only four inches from anoth-
er hole-in-one,
