Deceuber 16, 1991/296 A regular meeting of the Municipal Council of the Corporation of The City of Port Coquitlam was held in the Council Chambers, Port Coquitlam City Hall, 2580 Shaughnessy Street, Port Coquitlam, B.C. on Monday, December 16th, 1991, at 7:00 p.m. His Worship Mayor L.M. Traboulay and Aldermen M.D. Gatee, M.J. Gordon, J.J. Xeryluk, R.H. Talbot and M.A. Thompson were in attendance. Also in attendance were City Administrator B.R. Kirk, Acting City Clerk 5. Rauh, City Engineer I. Zahynacz, Director of Planning C.R. Felip and Parks and Recreation Director K.J. Taylor. SPECIAL PRESENTATION His Worship Mayor L.M. Traboulay introduced Judith Reeve of Reeve Consulting Services and Tom Annadale of Toby, Russell, Buckwell who presented a detailed plan for the active area of Reeve Street Park. CONFIRMATION OF MINUTES: Moved by Alderman Talbot: Seconded by Alderman Gordon: That the minutes of the Regular Council meeting held on December 9th, 1991 be taken as read and adopted. Carried. PROCLAMATIONS : WHEREAS: More than thirty ‘housand British Columbians are affected by Alzheimer's disease; . . WHEREAS: More than three hundred thousand Canadians are affected by Alzheimer’s disease; WHEREAS: Alzheimer's Disease is not a normal consequence of aging; WHEREAS: There is no known cure for this tragic disease, therefore intensified research is essential, such research needing the support of an informed society; . AND WHEREAS: The Alzheimer's Society of B.C. is providing support for afflicted families, funding research into causes and cures, and promoting better understanding of this disorder; NOW THEREFORE I, Leopard M. Txaboulay, Mayor of the Corporation of The City of Port Coquitlam, DU HEREBY PROCLAIM, the month of January, 1992 as “ALZHETMER AWARENESS MONTH” in the City of Pot Coquitlam.
