SUBJECT: Revisions to Cemetery Bylaw

RECOMMENDATIONS

That the following revisions be made to the City of Port Coquiltam
Cemetery bylaw and that the Bylaw be so amended:

1. That the fees set forth in Schedule @ be revised to the increased
amounts shown as "Proposed" on the attached ‘copy of the bylaw schedule.

2. That Section 20 (a) be revised to allow only one interment and one
interment of cremated remains in each grave space; provisions for the
Cremation areas of the cemetery to remain unchanged in this section.

BACKGROUND - RATES|

The City's schedule of cemetery ratea was increased modestly in 1985 ‘and
1987. A recent survey of rates levied by 6 municipal cemeteries in the
area shows Port Coquitlam rates generally Lower than, average.
