GENERAL COMMENTS ON LOCAL CRIMINAL AND DRUG ACTIVITIES” During the month of February, 1975, a total of 20 people were charged for offences under the Narcotic Control and Food & Drugs Acts. Soft drugs are readily available in all areas. Heroin is not prevalent, with users of this drug generally frequenting other areas to obtain their supply. There was one armed robbery during the month. Wouston's Second Hand Store,: 1329 Brunette Street, Coquitlam, was robbed by a lone male on February 13th. The person committing the robbery was armed with a pocket knife and obtained $173.00. Breaking and enterings showed a slight increase from the previous month. Thefts, particularly from automobiles, continue to be a problem, A special burglary detail was organized in December, 1974. n the 9 DEC 74 and the 23 FEB 75 this detail has been responsible for clearing a total of 24} offences. A total of 101 persons are involved in these offences, In all cases charges were either Laid or referred to the Prebation Branch for pre-court investigation.
