Students. Rose began teaching at the then Skeena High school when she and and husband Jack came here from Quesnel in 1956. She taught a special, pre- occupational class and it was through: placing one of her Students in a local ladies clothing store — the McGraths’ Kee Vee Shop — that got Rose interested in that business. She bought the store in 1967, renamed it Rose’s and ran it un- til 1972 when she sold out and the couple moved to Penticton, where they still reside (sons Cliff and Gerry have remained here). New owner of Rose’s was Marie’ McAlpine (Harrison) who had moved here from Burns Lake in 1949 with the government’s telegraph service.
