THE CORPORATION OF THE CITY OF PORT COQUITLAM Re: PWC ~2- Sept. 24/81 whereby the City refunds the costs for a large watermain and a section of sanitary sewer over a period of two years. The City Solicitor has prepared a special agreement form for this project, a copy of which is attached. Also attached is the tentative approval checklist which shows the details of the cost estimates and the funds which the developer must pay by way of letter of credit and cash. I would draw to Council's attention that the actual costs to the City for the 18" watermain and the 10" sanitary sewer will be the tendered amount for those items rather than the estimate shown in the checklist. The Committee has examined the agreement and recommends that the agreement be approved and the Mayor and Clerk be authorized to sign on behalf of the City. Once we have this approval from Council, the Developer is ready to put up the money and commence construction. I would expect that the rezoning bylaw would be ready for final reading next week. , ITEM III Re: Proposed Pedestrian Signal at Lions Way Crosswalk As requested by Council, the Public Works Committee has considered the need for a push-button pedestrian signal at the Lions Way crosswalk. The Committee recommends that funds for this signal be included in the Provisional Budget for 1982 and that we hold off on the special lighting in the meantime. ITEM IV Re: Fire Hall Turn Restrictions At the request of the Building and Protection Committee, the Committee cecnsidered the need for special signs in front of the No. ] Pire Hall to reduce the possibility of conflict with private vehicles and to expedite the movement of the emergency vehicles. The Committee recommends that signs be installed along the frontage of the Fire Hail on both sides of McAllister Street which would prevent the parking, stopping, or turning of traffic in front of the Fire Hall.
