The Gérald-et-Henriette-Moreau Award During its general assembly in June, the FFCB presented the Gérald-et-Henriette-Moreau Award to Ms. Johanne Dumas of the Société francophone de Maillardville. This award recognizes the work of employees of the province's Francophone associations. Ms. Johanne Dumas has been the Director General and Artistic Director of the Société francophone de Maillardville for 15 years. She has participated in several municipal, provincial and national initiatives in the field of cultural and artistic activities and in economic development projects. Ms. Dumas’ experience in the fields of administra- tion, sales, community and cultural development, as well as her pride in her mother tongue and its traditions, contributes to the success of the many projects she supports. The Cornouiller d’or Award As part of the Francophonie Week in Vancouver, the Fédération des francophones de la Colombie-Britannique (FFCB) presented the Cornouiller d’or award for the ninth consecutive year. This award recognizes the work of federal and provincial government officials who have contributed to the development of the Francophone community in British Columbia. This year’s award was presented to Ms. Véronique Mercier, manager of the Federal-Provincial Agreement on Official Languages at the British Columbia Intergovernmental Affairs Secretariat. Ms. Mercier works actively for the Francophone community, and in particular, she played a key role in organizing Canadian Francophonie Day as part of the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games. She also played a key role at the last two provincial consultations with British Columbia’s Francophone community to encourage negotiations regarding the Canada British Columbia cooperation Agreement on Official Languages. Ms. Mercier also ensures that the Provincial Government continues to increase access to French language programs and services. _.
