Carried. Prior to passage of the foregoing resolution a discussion ensued and Alderman Ranger explained the existing floor space was 2,892 sq. ft. and the addition would add 4,000 sq. ft. He stated that there would be ample space for carpet bowling, pool tables, and other activities and there would be a folding door which could be used to separate the room or be opened to use the maximum area. Mr. Harold Pritchett advised Council there are approximately 300 members in the Senior Citizens Association. Alderman Ranger advised the Laking Room could be used for large meetings by rolling up the carpet used for carpet bowling. In reply to an enquiry as to whether the kitchen facility would be large enough Recreation Director Janna Taylor advised the kitchen was not a catering kitchen: but Alderman Ranger expressed the opinion that it should be adequate. Mr. Archie Johnson asked whether the kitchen would have sufficient voltage for coffee urns and Alderman Ranger advised he would make a note on the drawing and bring it to the architect's attention. Alderman Traboulay asked whether this addition was the maximum size for future growth and Aldecman Ranger advised it would be the maximum size for this site. Alderman Thompson asked whether the Committee had considered extending Hyde Creek to facilitate a Senior Citizens Area and Alderman Ranger advised that it has not been necessary to consider such a inove at this time.
