From the Project Engineer, April 9th, 1992 regarding 1992 Backyard
Composting Program.

Moved by Alderman Gates:
Seconded by Alderman Gordon:

That a grant application be made to the Provincial Ministry of Environment
for one third funding for the purchase of 1,500 home composters.

That subject to approval of the Provincial Grant, a tender be sent out to
composter manufacturers and the appropriate composters be selected based on
price and specifications.

That local merchants be approached to distribute the composters through
their outlets.

That $53,500 be allocated from the 1992 Environmental Protection Budget.
Carried.

At 8:55 p.m. Alderman Gates left the Council Chamber.

From the Project Engineer, April 9th, 1992 regarding request for Funding,
Victoria area composting facility field trip.

Moved by Alderman Thompson:
Seconded by Alderman Gordon

That Council authorize the expenses of two Aldermen and one staff member
to attend a field trip to Victoria area composting facilities.

Carried

At 9:00 p.m. Alderman Gates returned and took his seat in the Council
Chambers.

From the Acting Director of Planning, April 8th, 1992 regarding Rezoning
Application No. 10/92 and Official Community Plan Amendment No. 11/92 for 2211
Prairie Avenue. .

Seconded by Alderman Thompson:

That this application be approved to proceed for rezoning from RS-1 to CD
under Section 963 of the Municipal Act and for amendment of the Official
Community Plan designation from “Residential” to “Apartment" subject to:

i. Completion of a design to the satisfaction of the ‘Director of
Planning; .

Parking relaxation concerns being addressed’ by the applicant to the
satisfaction of the Director of Planning;
