Mr. Schell further stated his concern at motorists who presently exceed the 15 m.p.h. lane speed, and pointed out that with more cars, the problem will become worse. Alderman Mabbett stated that the situation was discussed several weeks ago, and that a recommendation to install speed bumps would probably be forthcoming in that regard. Mr. Brian Thorburn, 2535 Gordon Avenue, stated he was opposed to the development because the area is becoming overcrowded, and he also expressed concern at the children not having sufficient play area and being required to cross the 4~lane Lougheed Highway enroute to school. Mr. G.N. Donaldson, 2549 Davies Avenue, also spoke against the project for the reasons previously mentioned by Mr. Thornburn. Alderman Mabbett pointed out that when completed, Fox Street Park will provide an SEAR AL ce Ct Te et adequate playground for children in that area. The Public Hearing concluded at 7:45 p.m., and the regular Council meeting then commenced.
