A REPORT ON POCO HOUSE

Poco House is now in its second year of operation as a drug
abuse prevention project sponsored by the City of Port Coquitlam and
the Alcohol and Drug Commission of British Columbia, Because a major
portion of our funding is now a responsibility of the Alcohol and
Drug Commission, they undertook an assessment of our programme and

its relevance to the community. We received confirmation of their

wenewed financial support in October 1974.

AS a result of their recommendations, two major changes in
our operation have been made, They are as follows:
1) The formation of an advisory committee to help

coordinate our programme with other agencies
and provide advice in our programme development,
The discontinuance of our 24 hour emergency
coverage, as it was felt that this is adequately
handled by other agencies,
