wishing to trap feral cats but the shelter puts: .

“We can only hold tamed, cats,”
said, adding the shelter has: 18 cat kennels

with varying numbers of: felines up for adop-

tion at any given. time.

RaggaMuffin needs money for new traps -
‘and kennels, as Szepat says some of the cap-
_tured cats. will be sent to a no-kill’shelter in _
* Vancouver. Szepat estimates the calls the so-

The’ Board membership represents a wide cross section of the
tourism. industry in Terrace, including adventure tourism, retail,
accommodations, business, travel and tour operations, marketing,
| as well as representation from. TEDA, the Chamber of Commerce,
and the Regional. District.

“The Terrace and District Chamber of Commerce fully supports
the new structure of Kermodei Tourism. We are confident this new
direction will enhance and improve our business community as:
well as tourism”, said Chamber President, Glenn Kelly.

Mayor and Council feel this is a very strong Board whose mission
“will be to develop a tourism organization that is a community
and industry partnership, dedicated to facilitating the growth and
sustainable development of the tourism industry in the greater
Terrace area. This organization will be the full service tourism
destination management organization sanctioned and funded
by the City of Terrace. | .

TheBoardwill promote and foster the development of a competitive
tourism industry and a quality destination experience. The new
organization will be based on a stakeholder membership model
to involve all businesses in the tourism industry.

The Board has hired Carol Fielding on an: interim contract basis
to provide managerial and administrative support. She will be
working from a temporary office at 201-4621 Lakelse Avenue
(contact number - 250.635. 4944).

comments or suggestions regarding the fourism industry in the
Terrace.area.
