I-am now collect- YVONNE MOEN A Bit of Terrace History Handed Down BOUGHT BY the Bowen-Colthurst family “about 50 years ago from Frank Bros Dairy (filled with delicious fresh milk), the pictured Frank Bros Dairy milk bottle has now been handed down to a very appreciative member of the Frank family. For about 50 years, the Bowen-Colthurst ‘family have had: this piece of history. And according to Michiel’ Bowen-, -Colthurst, the milk bottle hasbeen stored in a back shed, among logging. chains and ' cables. ~ They moved it, kept it and saved it. The - family always felt it (was part of Terrace’ s history. | Recently, Michiel Bowen- -Colthurst de- cided to call Norman Frank, inviting him to come over to have a look at a piece of histo- ry he was collecting ~ the Frank Bros Dairy * milk bottle. Norman is a son of well remem- ' 32 years. _ ries left behind. [t bered Terrace milk man, Floyd Frank, who delivered milk door-to-door in Terrace for Michiel wanted to pass this piece of his- [| tory down to its right- ful owner. He said he gave it back with a lot of feeling and felt it was only. right to hand it back to the community, because of so many past memo- We are wondering, if maybe others have these milk bottles hanging around in their collection. The milk: bottles have nursery rhymes on the side of the bottles. And according to Norman Frank, the milk bottle is in new condition after 50 years of being moved from one cornér to another. And he is very grateful to Michiel Bowen- Colthurst for handing it down to him. . What a wonderful keepsake. The Frank brothers — both Floyd and Ivan — are well remembered:by many in Terrace. She fed it milk, three times a day, my how that Lamb did grow. . Another was: Jack be nibble, Jack be ' quick, drink your milk, so you won't gel sick. Now there may have been a couple more rhymes?, And before'l go, just a little news item. ‘The little hummingbirds were spotted in Port Edward on Easter Monday, so they are on their way to Terrace. ° Last year, they arrived in Terrace on April 1.
