Pebruary 7, 1994/0353 A regular meeting of the Municipal Council of the Corporation of the City of Port Coquitlam was held in the Council Chambers, Port Coquitlam City Hall, 2580 Shaughnessy Street, Port Coquitlam, BC on Monday, February 7th, 1994, at 7:30 p m. Mayor L.M. Traboulay and Councillors M.D. Gates, M.J. Gordon, J.J. Keryluk, R.H. Talbot, and M.A. Thompson were in attendance. Also in attendance were Acting City Administrator J.G.S. Maitland, City Clerk S. Rauh, City Engineer IR. Zahynacz, Director of Community Planning C.R. Felip, Director of Parks and Recreation K.J. Taylor, Fire Chief J.L. Baillie, and Deputy Fire Chief G. Routley. That the minutes for the Regular Council Meeting of January 24th, 1994 and the Public Hearing and Regular Council Meeting of January 31st, 1994 as amended, be taken as read and adopted. PROCLAMATION: Whereas the diverse cultural heritage of British Columbians contributes greatly to life in our Province; Whereas the Government of British Columbia is committed to the ideal of a harmonious society based on mutual respect and where diversity is respected and valued; And whereas the Government of British Columbia wishes to join with community groups across the Province in recognizing the multicultural nature of our society, Now therefore I, Lenard M. Traboulay, Mayor of the Corporation of The City of Port Coquitlam, DO HEREBY FROCLAIM the week of February 13th to 19th, 1994, as . "MULTICULTURALISM WEEK” in the City of Port Coquitlam. DELEGATIONS: His Worship Mayor L.M. Traboulay introduced Chief Leonard George, and also Natalie McNeil who each requested permission to address Council. That Chief Leonard George be given leave to speak regarding access to the Indian Reserve, and Ms. Natalie McNeil be given leave to speak regarding bus service to Citadel Heights. Carried,
