Kirk May 31, 1990 City Administrator File No. 26/90 Carlos Felip Director of Planning Development Permit VI Planning and Development Committee - June 12, 1990 RECOMMENDATION: It is recommended that the Municipal Clerk be instructed to prepare a bylaw to amend the Official Community Plan, to include the following text in Chapter "V - Development Permit Areas", Section "2 Development Permit Area Designation": Vv This area is designated as a Development Permit Area for the establishment of objectives and the provisions of guidelines for the form and character of commercial and multi-family development. a. Boundaries: North and East: Center line of Kingsway Avenue}; South: Center line of Wilson Avenue and the projection of the center line of Wilson Avenue to the center of the Coquitlam River; West: Center line of the Coquitlam River. The boundaries noted above are shown on map "Schedule "C" of the Official Community Plan", as Development Permit Area VI and in the map "Development Permit Area VI" which form part of the Official Community Plan. b. Objectives: The objectives of the Development Permit Area are: i. To facilitate the orderly development of the area and to encourage co-ordination of the siting, form and volume of new commercial and residential buildings and their area for parking, storage and landscaping. one en ee onese To encourage appropriate interface between the different retail, office, recreational, cultural and multi-family residential uses occupying the downtown area so that a pleasant environment can result. ~-2/
