McQueen from B.C. Hydro ng Council's instructions from the (1) The Street Lighting account # 23253 will be over expended by almost $3,000.00. An incorrect amount was budgeted for 1972 due to a misunderstanding of the B.C. Hydro billin Mr. McQueen explained the billing system so that no fur problems of this kind should be encountered. (2) As vas previously reported to Council g§ systen. ther » the 1972 program consists of 27 Mercury Vapour Lamp renewals and 10 n ew Mercury Vapour installat ions. Mr. McQueen reported that this work will be Started and completed early in 1973. (3) There remains in the City 189 Incandescent Street Lamps, 27 of which will be renewed as part of the 1972 program. It is proposed that the 1973 program include 162 Mercury Vapour Lamp renewals and 20 new Mercury Vapour Lamp installations, If there is no upgrading program in 1973 the Street Lighting account # 23253 will require a budgeted amount of $45,300.00. (4) It is recommended that approval for the suggested 1973 Upgrading Program be obtained from Council in January 1973 so that Hydro can be placed. If this is done B.C, by the mid part of 1973. the order with B.c. Hydro should have the work completed Assuming that the "1973 Upgrading Program is completed by the end of June 1973 an additional expenditure in 1973 of $1,600.00 will be made, therefore the total budget submission for 1973 which will see the com~ Pletion of the Street Lighting Upgrading Program is $46,900.00.
