The Borad of Directors of the Volunteer Bureau
of Greater Vancouver respectfully request your support
- and signature.of a proclamation declaring the week of
April 20 - 26 as Volunteer Recognition Week.

I am sure you are aware of the many hours
contributed by volunteers in efforts to enhance the
quality of life in your District.

We are asking agencies to plan recognition of
‘their volunteers during this week and local libraries to
feature displays on vclunteer programs. Mayors of other
cities and municipalities are being asked to sign this
declaration.

The week of April 20 ~ 26 is being promoted as”
Volunteer Week through the media by the National Centre
of Voluntary Action, an American Association. The Canadian
_ counterpart, the Association of Canadian Volunteer Bureaus
is in the developing stages and will in the future assume
20 - 26 as Volunteer Recognition Week.
