Board is weighing the question of whether to continue on its own or not, and the City Administrator stated that Mr. Axt Guite, Vector Control Offi- cer for the Simon Fraser Health Unit had attended the annual meeting of the F.V.M.C.B., and. that copies of his report thereon received earlier this afternoon concerning that aspect and the increased cost of spraying would be circulated to members of Council. | | From the Friends of the Port Coquitlam Library Association, March 12th, 1974, submitting a Statement on the objectives and philosophy for public | ibrary service in Port Coquitlam prepared by a Committee of the Association, and advising for interest that the subject of Channel 10's “Contact” pro- gramme on Friday, March 22nd, 1974 at 7:00 pom. will ve “The Public Library Study for Port Coquitlam", which will take the. form of a discussion with Mr. Brian Bacon, author of the report. Alderne.a Traboulay pointed out there was an error on Page 2 of the report under the heading “Library Use", namely, the word "radical" should be corrected to read "racial", and to this the Council generally agreed. Moved by Akerman Ranger: Seconded by Alderman Laking: “That the Statement submitted by the Friends of the Port Coquitiam Library Association entitled "Objectives and Philosophy for Public Library Service in Port Coquitlam" be accepted. Carried.. Alderman Traboulay stated he thought the group should be coneratulated for its prompt and excellent presentation, and Alderman Keryluk mentioned the fine co-operation received from the press in the past and suggested that perhaps coverage could be given to the television programme mentioned in the letter from the Association. From The Corporation of the City of North Vancouver, March 8th, 1974, advising that at its regular meeting held on March 4th, 1974, the City Council of that municipality had adopted the following resolution with re- gard to the recent amendment to the Municipal Act to provide that only oc- cupants of property need be notified in the event of a Public Hearing for a Land Use Contract or rezoning application: "THAT WHEREAS the Municipal Act was amended to omit the requirement of sending notifications to owners in respect of Public Hearings for rezoning or land use contracts; AND WHEREAS this Council sees the necessity of informing and protecting
