Moved by Alderman Traboulay: Seconded by Alderman Ranger: That the Application for Burning Permit from John Wayne Construction Ltd., March 17th, 1977 for permission to clear building lots at Westminster and Coventry, be denied. Carried. Alderman Laking voted against the resolution. NEW BUSINESS: Alderman Mabbett referred to a problem involving a 5 acre parcel Ald. Mabbett re Allard Soil oper- ation. south of Beaver Lumber (commonly known as the ‘Allard' property) and a top soil operation that was being carried out on the property and reported for information that following several complaints, meetings had been neld involving the City's By-Law Enforcement Officer, the City Engineer, Mr. Allard and various residents of the area and the result of these meetings is that a letter is being sent ordering that all materials must be removed from the site within 30 days. MONTHLY REPORTS: From the Fire Chief, being the Fire Department Report for February Fire Dept.Rpt.for February 1977 1977. The report was received for information. From the B.C. Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, SPCA~February 1977 i March 2nd, 1977, being the Monthly Service Report on Pound Operation for Pound Operstion the February 1977. Alderman Traboulay commented on the number of cat complaints reported and suggested that some consideration should be given to licencing as a means of control.
