It is a working policy that will eventu- ——— ally touch on every IWA-CANADA member. As one delegate said at the conference: “We need an army of IWA members to get our message out.” The four Vancouver Island locals are taking a leading role to show that our forest policy needs the commit- ment of local officers, staff and rank and file. Those local unions said they were serious about their commitment in establishing forest-environment 1 / } | ‘ | t | At March's National Executive Board meeting terms of reference to establish forest-environment committees were given approval. Local unions now have guidelines on how to establish forest-environment committees on the job. Money from the one dollar per-member-per-month forest policy fund is being collected and plans are in the works.
