The recently concluded negotiated agreement, which included increases of 15%
and 13% respectively with a $1.50 minimum is recent history and does not require
any further clarification. However, because CPU asked to be “finaled” prematurely,
all sectors of the industry suffered through a six-week strike.

PLYWOODS AGREEMENT

WHY —
IF THE PPWC ARE SO CAPABLE OF NEGOTI-

ATING THEIR OWN WAGE AND FRINGE BENE-
FITS, DID THEY —

(1) Sign an unprecedented four year agreement at
North Central Plywoods in Prince George?

(2) Insert the following “The Parties further agree
that any general wage increase agreed to by the
North-Cariboo Forest Labour Relations Asso-
ciation (NCFLRA) on behalf of the major forest
products manufacturers in the Northern Interior

during the 1981 negotiations shall apply July
1st, 1981 in the terms of Appendix #11.”

Appendix 11 is as follows:

full force and effect until the conclusion between
North-Cariboo Forest Labour Relations Association
or its successor and International Woodworkers of
