WA MEMBERS MANNING THE PICKET LINES DURING THE PROVINCE-WIDE STRIKE OF THE FOREST INDUSTRY Shown on these pages are IWA members manning the picket lines at a number of operations both on the Coast and in the Interior. The IWA believes that the 1981 Forest Industry Strike was an historical event due to the fact that it was the first time the entire forest industry in British Columbia was shut down due to strike action. A number of pictures taken of the picket lines have been omitted due to space but will appear in the Union’s Annual and in the history of the organization now being compiled by the IWA. 10/Lumber Worker/September, 1981
