Pro- duction work shall be paid for at rate and one-half for Satur- day and/or Sunday regardless of the number of hours worked during the week.” SECTION 1(4): “Fire Wardens” to be added to the list of exceptions and the phrase “Tow Boatmen” changed to “Tug Boatmen”. Section 1(d) as amended would read as fol- lows: “The following are exceptions to Clause (a), namely: Cookhouse and Bunkhouse Employees in un- organized territory, Fire Ward- ens, Firefighters, Tug Boatmen, First-aid Attendants and Watch- men.” SECTION 2(b): The following subsection to be deleted: “Cookhouse and Bunkhouse Employees shall be entitled to one (1) day off in seven (7) to be taken if practicable, other- wise at any time mutually agreeable; provided that all ac- cumulated leave shall be given in full at least once every three (3) months. CALL TIME SECTION 3: The following to be added as new Section 3: “Call time for Fallers and Buckers shall be paid on the basis of the day rate and for shingle sawyers and packers on the basis of the stand-by time rate.” ARTICLE XVII. ARBITRATION SECTION 2(a): The following paragraph, Sec- tion 2(a), to be deleted: “Tn the case of a dispute aris- ing regarding the discharge of an Employee or the failure to rehire an Employee under this Agreement, which the Parties are unable to settle between themselves as set out in Article V, the matter shall be deter- mined by arbitration in the fol- lowing manner.” The following paragraph to re- place the one deleted: “In the case of a dispute aris- ing out of this Agreement, save and except those within the Scope of Section 1 herein, which the Parties are unable to settle between themselves, the matter shall be determined by arbitration in the following manner:” SECTION 2(c): The following subsection which reads as follows to be deleted: “The decision of the Arbitra- tion Board shall be by majority vote ‘and all decisions regard- ing discharge or failure to re- hire Employees which have been referred to arbitration will be final and binding upon the Parties of the First and Second Parts.” The following to become the new Section 2(c): “The decision of the arbitration board shall be by majority vote and all decisions regarding matters referred to arbitration will be final and binding upon the Parties of the First and Second Parts.” SECTION 3: The following Section to be de- leted: “The Parties of the First and Second Parts will each bear the expense and charges of its rep- resentatives on any Arbitration Board, and shall bear in equal proportions the expenses and allowances of the Chairman, and stenographic and secreta- rial expense; and rent.” The following Section to be- come the new Section 3: “The Party losing an arbitra- tion under Section 2 shall bear the cost of the arbitration as set by the Board, such costs to include the fees and expenses of Board members, the reason- able expenses of bringing wit- nesses before the Board, Coun- sel fees, and all other inciden- tal and necessary expenses.” ARTICLE XVUL. STRIKES OR LOCKOUTS SECTION 2: The present Article XVIII to be numbered Article XVIII, Sec- tion 1 and the following to be- come Section 2: “All members of the Commit- tee as defined in Article IV, Section 1 who are responsible for an illegal strike or work stoppage shall be subject to discharge by the Company.” SECTION 3: The following to become new Section 3: -“Any officer of the Union who is responsible for an illegal work stoppage or strike in any Company or operation covered by the Master Agreement shall be subject to termination of his leave of absence by the Com- pany on whose payroll he ap- pears.” ARTICLE XIX. GENERAL PROVISIONS SECTION 3: The following to become new Section 3: “The Company shall be re- lieved from any obligation aris- ing from this Agreement where an order of the Board of In- dustrial Relations or other law- ful authority removes whatever reasonable basis existed for such obligation. LRB Penalizes Unfair Firing Two employees of Shields Motor Products Ltd., Prince George, were recently rein- stated, with retroactive adjust- ment of pay, as a result of rep- resentations made before the Labour Relations Board by President Jacob Holst, Local 1-424, The employees, Wesley Em- mons, and Ed Cormack, had been discharged in October, 1956, dur- ing the period required for con- sideration of the Union’s appli- cation for certification. It was contended by Solicitor Alex Mac- donald who represented the Lo- cal Union before the Board, that they had been released because of trade union activity. Unfair labor practices were alleged, and on this basis the decision was rendered. The IWA certification in this plant is the outcome of a mutual aid pact signed between the IWA and the Operating Engineers. The Operating Engineers agreed with the expressed desire of the employees that they should in fu- ture bargain through the IWA in Prince- George. drive in Alberta and Newfound- land. Annual meeting of the Youbou IWA Sub-Local, was held in the Community Hall, at Youbou on Mar. 17, 1957. Officers elected were: President, David Aitken; 1st Vice-President, R.
