Enterprise of the wives of two IWA members, who have established the Mary-Jane Ma- ternity Fashions Shop in New Westminster, has launched a shopping service for the wives of workers in remote communi- ties, which has proved a great boon for those deprived of the ordinary shopping facilities. The ladies, who have shown more than ordinary business acu- men, have revealed an under- standing knowledge of the shop- ping problems of prospective mothers in camps and small settlements. They have devised a mail-order shopping service IWA Wives Offer Shopping Service which can serve the needs of such women, and fill special or- ders without extra cost. They also sell babies’ layettes and clothes. When they supply catalogues, they also furnish samples of the fabrics described, so that the buyer can test the quality, and know the exact color of the gar- ments ordered. They report that their prices are the lowest in the metropolitan area. The partners are Mrs. Lorne Hunter, and Mrs. Ray Wilson, Whose husbands are IWA mem- bers employed at Canadian For- est Products Ltd. co-operate on the study.
