Meeting of Local 1-367, and hed Girl Scouts Suspected WASHINGTON (CPA) — The latest target of the smear-mong- .ers is the U.S. Girl Scouts orga- nization. An article by Robert LeFevre in a recent issue of Human Events magazine charged that “even the Girl Scouts (are) infiltrated with leftists.” The grounds for LeFevre’s charge spring from a paragraph| in the Girl Scout’s handbook which, the writer states, ‘“en- dorses socialized medicine”. The paragraph concerned notes: “The main health agency of the Federal Government is the U.S. Public Health Service. Some of its duties are: to prevent the bringing of diseases from other countries; to prevent the spread of* diseases between states; to study the cause and prevention of diseases dangerous to public health; to supervise the purity of products in inter-state commerce; to assist state and local health departments.” Co-Op Go Mobile LONDON (CNS)—Like the proverb about Mahomet going to the mountain because the mountain would not go to Ma- homet, the British co-operative movement is taking its stores to the customer. Stores The mobile stores have also proved useful in seryicing new housing estates where provision has been made for only a limited number of permanent stores. Prejudice against co-operatives has, in some cases, influenced the appetizing refreshments ready when the essembly took its mid-session recess. it, LIVELY INTEREST was shown by these ladies in the officers’ reports submitted to the Annual Meeting of Local 1-367.
