1, STRENUOUS effort availed them nothing when they ‘met men of
superior ayoirdupois.

2, PROUD WINNERS of their race presented themselves to the Com-
mittee of the Women’s Auxiliary who awarded them their prizes.

3, 4. FAMILY GROUPS, such as are seen above, were dotted all over
the grounds, catering with special attention to the husky appetites of
the younger generation.

5. “GET READY” was a command that caused more excitement among
the lerge crowd of ambitious contestants than the B.E, Games.

6. MASTER OF CEREMONIES Charlie Lamarche, with the energetic as-
sistance of “‘Stu’’ Hodgson, kept the sports events running smoothly and
to the satisfaction of the younger set.
