BACKS
POOL

The IWA Women’s Auxiliary
of Local 1-424 at the last meet-
ing held, went on record as be-
ing in favor of the completion
of a swimming pool for the
City of Prince George.

At present the only place the
children have to swim is in the
Nechako and Fraser Rivers, these
rivers have swift running cur-
rents and there are no lifeguards |
and no supervision at these places |
for the children, in addition the |
sewage disposal of the city runs,
into the Fraser River from the
Millar Addition.

Proper recreational facilities
for the children in summer are
limited. The auxiliary is for-
warding letters to the Kinsmen’s
Club, the Prince George Youth
Centre and the Mayor of the city,
requesting that the swimming
pool be one of the first completed
for the children’s recreation dur-
ing the summer.

“ow did your wife get on|
with her redueing diet?” |

“Fine, she disappeared com-
pletely last week.”
